XBIZ Summer Forum ’09: Calm Before the Storm

LAS VEGAS – Even though the XBIZ Summer Forum 2009 doesn’t officially kick off until tomorrow, it didn’t stop scores of early conference arrivals from enjoying the amenities of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino a day early.

In Las Vegas, sin never goes out of style, but before the show’s first evening of seduction, the XBIZ Golf Tournament hit the links at the world renowned Bali Hai golf course. Nine foursomes participated in the bright and shiny weather – perfect for a cigar, a drink and a putter.

With the luminous hi-rise hotels and casinos dotting the Vegas skyline, team NETbilling took first place in the competition with Mitch Farber and Ycaza Thrush leading the charge. Tim Siner of VideoSecrets won the closest-to-the-pin contest on the 16th hole.

After the participants smoked the links, VideoSecrets sponsored a Go Kart rally and arcade night at the Pole Position racetrack just off the famed Las Vegas strip. All attendees were treated to a free night of racing, video games, billiards, food and drink.

The competitive spirit in the racers was evident as heats of six drivers took off in their rally cars that reached a top speed of 45 miles per hour. This reporter finished dead last in his heat, beaten out by LFP President Michael Klein and The Adult Broker’s Lori Z.

Post racecar glory, the Hard Rock center bar was the place to see and be seen. Attendees milled about making connections, doing deals and planning out the next three days of the hard rockin’ XBIZ Summer Forum.

The show officially kicks off with tomorrow with the new attendee orientation at 9:30 a.m. With educational seminars indoors and the hottest pool scene in Vegas outdoors, the fourth annual Summer Forum is sure to kick off with a bash.

The party slate kicks off tomorrow night with when XBIZ takes over Body English inside the Hard Rock to throw the HOT Party at 10:30 p.m.

As they said at the go kart track: “Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!”
